CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM THE HON DR DAVID GILLESPIE MP, FEDERAL MEMBER FOR LYNE
The Christmas season is here and is a chance to spend quality time with family and friends, take a break, and reflect on what the year has been.
The year has provided many challenges for our communities, so this holiday season is the opportunity to rest, relax, unwind, and recharge.
For many of us, Christmas is a time we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and give thanks for the wonderful things we have in life whether its family and friends, or involvement in the sports we play, or a hobby we enjoy – all the good things to enrich our lives in the place we call home.
Christmas is also a time to think of others who are less fortunate than us. You could donate to a charity or another worthy cause, or, to send some Christmas cheer to those doing it tough this festive season.
Also reach out to those people feeling a little lonely this year and check if they are ok.
If you are going to do some travelling this festive season maybe a road trip, please be careful and stay safe while driving.
Take care when enjoying the great outdoors, be sun smart, and if you are boating or swimming, check the conditions and keep safe.
On behalf of my wife Charlotte and I, from our family to yours, have a happy, safe and holy Christmas, and all the very best for 2025.
Merry Christmas.
